The brother-in-law of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas received life-saving surgery in an Israeli hospital, i24 News reported Friday.

The brother-in-law of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas underwent life-saving heart surgery at a private hospital in Tel Aviv, according to Israeli media reports Thursday.

According to the reports, Abbas’s wife’s brother was said to be recovering in intensive care after a successful operation.

Israel approved Abbas’s relative to receive treatment in Tel Aviv, Israeli news outlet Walla reported.

Last year Amina Abbas, the president’s wife, underwent surgery in the same hospital.

A number of relatives of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, including his mother-in-law and daughter, have also been treated in Israeli hospitals.
