The Palestinian Authority’s ruling party paid tribute to a Palestinian terrorist on the 15th anniversary of her deadly attack on Friday, celebrating that she became a suicide bomber so “that her pure body would explode into pieces in the Zionists’ faces,” Palestinian Media Watch reported Sunday.

Wafa Idris, a volunteer with the Palestinian Red Crescent, used an ambulance to evade Israeli checkpoints and enter Jerusalem with a 22-pound bomb on January 27, 2002. She detonated the explosive on Jaffa Road, killing 81-year-old Pinchas Tokatli — a retired fifth generation Jerusalemite — and wounding more than 150 others.
“Today is the 15th anniversary of the first Martyrdom-seeking operation of the Al-Aqsa Intifada, which was carried out by Martyrdom-seeker Wafa Idris, a daughter of the Fatah Movement,” Fatah wrote in a Facebook post honoring Idris, who was the first female Palestinian suicide bomber.
In addition to praising Idris’ attack in graphic terms, Fatah justified it as revenge for Israel’s killing of terrorist Raed Al-Karmi, who murdered three Israelis and planned to kill six others a week prior.
Earlier this month, Fatah memorialized Al-Karmi on the anniversary of his death, calling him a “settler hunter,” “the quick-responding heroic commander,” and “the falcon of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades.”
In addition to glorifying murderers, Fatah pays generous salaries to families of terrorists and has been willing to make political deals with Hamas, which is still committed to Israel’s destruction.
