The mass public executions by Hamas in the past week have caused even Palestinian officials in the West Bank to compare the Iran-backed terror group in Gaza to the brutal ISIS terrorists.
Tayyib Abd al-Rahim, Secretary-General of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ office, said the public executions without trial of the men who were lined up in the street and shot in front of large crowds “were reminiscent of the summary executions carried out by Wahhabi militant groups in other parts of the Middle East.”
A published report indicated that two women may have been among the 22 people summarily shot and killed in public.
A leading Palestinian human rights group also reacted angrily, calling for an immediate “stop such extra-judicial executions.”
Writing in the Huffington Post, Middle East analyst Arsen Ostrovsky noted that:
“Hamas is essentially Israel’s ISIS — but funded by Iran, assembled on the border of the Jewish state and with genocidal intentions of destroying Israel and killing all Jews around the world.”
ISIS terrorists shocked America last week with the video showing them cutting off the head of an American journalist.
Speaking to reporters before Sunday’s cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the world now realized they need a united front against jihadist terror groups:
“In this struggle we are part of a wide front. Many countries in the region and in the West are beginning to understand that it is one front, because Hamas is ISIL and ISIL is Hamas. They are simply working in the same way. They are branches of the same poisoned tree. They are both Islamic extremist terror groups that kidnap and murder innocents; who execute their own people.”
“They are two movements who are in fact making an effort to form an alternative Islamic rule with no human rights on vast territories while carrying out massacres of minorities, while not honoring the human rights of anybody – not women, children, men, Christians. Nobody. And with each day that passes the world is understanding more and more that Hamas is working like ISIS and ISIS working like Hamas. The state of Israel will continue to stand at the side of the civilized world and in its fight against violent extremist Islam.”
