Terror Stabbings In Tel Aviv, Gush Etzion, Leave 1 Dead, Three Injured

A 24-year-old woman has been killed, and three others injured, including a soldier, in two separate terror attacks in Israel today.

The Times of Israel reported on the attack that took place this afternoon in the West Bank area of Gush Etzion, just south of Jerusalem, when a man got out of his car and began stabbing people at a bus stop.

The victim was stabbed in her neck, and declared dead at the site. Magen David Adom gave her age as 24 years old.

A 26-year-old man suffered light-moderate injuries, and a man in his 50s was lightly hurt in his face.

Although earlier reports said that the attacker was shot and killed by a nearby guard, he is now reported to be seriously wounded. Hamas reportedly identified the terrorist as Maher Hamdi al-Hashalmoun, who has served time in Israeli prison for security offenses.

In another attack this morning, a soldier was stabbed and seriously injured in Tel Aviv.

The Jerusalem Post reported:

An initial investigation into the incident found that a soldier who was near the train station was attacked by a man armed with a knife who jumped on him and began to stab him in his upper body. The suspect appeared to be attempting to take the soldier’s weapon.

Passersby at the scene came to the assistance of the victim, pushing the suspect off of him. The suspect then fled.

Agence France-Presse added:

Emergency services spokesman Zaki Heller said the victim was “very seriously hurt”, with footage from the scene showing a man lying in pools of blood.

“I got to HaHagana bridge with a friend and we saw a big man in a red sweatshirt stabbing a soldier twice, apparently someone from the air force,” an eyewitness called Kobi told public radio.

The victim was reported to be in critical condition and had to be revived at the scene before he was transferred to a hospital.

The attacks come amid growing calls in Palestinian social media to attack Jews as well as the increasingly incendiary rhetoric of Palestinian leaders.
