Senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) official Khader Habeeb is praising Iran for its support of Palestinian terrorism, declaring that Tehran has “adopted” terror groups since the Iranian revolution. The declarations can be considered reciprocation for statements made last week by Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Ali Larijani in which he expressed support and admiration for PIJ and Hamas. Iran has long been open about its support for violent Palestinian terror groups, supplying them with advanced training and materials. A senior U.S. official in late November revealed that Iran is “finding ways to resupply Hamas,” and that shipments included long-range rockets.
