A sustainable Israeli packaging solution is now being offered by Google Express as a cost-effective and plastic-free alternative to the hundreds of retailers and brands on its U.S. shopping platform.
TIPA, founded by two Israeli moms in 2010, innovated an award-winning line of compostable flexible packaging now used in several European countries for food and apparel. The durable, impermeable TIPA material includes plant-based ingredients such as non-genetically modified corn.
TIPA is one of four companies whose products are included in The Sustainable Suite of innovative and unique products that have been tested and approved by major retailers across North America and Europe.
Google Express is encouraging its many partner brands – including Target, Costco and Best Buy – to use Sustainable Suite portfolio products to reduce carbon footprint while increasing operational efficiency and decreasing overall packaging costs.
“The products that we sell and promote will revolutionize the way online retailers pack their products and will definitely increase customer satisfaction and brand loyalty,” said Lorne Herszkowicz, president and CEO of The Sustainable Suite.
“These products will offer retailers and customers an eco-friendly option for shipping and receiving packages with up to 100 percent recyclable content, compostable and FSC-certified items. It is bound to set the standard for packaging in the future across North America and beyond.”
The announcement was made on June 5 in conjunction with World Environment Day.
