A Palestinian terrorist fatally stabbed two men and wounded a woman and toddler in Jerusalem’s Old City Saturday night.

Muhammad Shafeq Halabi attacked Aharon Bennett with a knife before seriously injuring his wife Adele and lightly wounding their two-year-old child. Nehemia Levi, an IDF reserve officer who reportedly ran out with a handgun to assist the family once he heard the commotion, was also stabbed and killed. Halabi, who posted “the third intifada has begun” on social media before the attack, was shot dead by security forces on the scene.

The attack was welcomed by the terrorist organization Palestinian Islamic Jihad, of which Halabi was reportedly a member. Hamas, the terror organization that rules the Gaza Strip, hailed the act as “a heroic act of resistance.” A disturbing video capturing moments from the attack is embedded below.

Hours later, a 15-year-old Israeli was stabbed and moderately wounded in Jerusalem by a Palestinian assailant. Police said the attacker was killed at the scene. The teenage victim, Moshe Malka, underwent a successful operation and is in stable condition. The terrorist, Fadi Aloon, had reportedly posted his intent to become a “martyr” on social media.

Also today, Palestinians stoned a bus as it drove by the village of Beit Umar, south of Jerusalem. No injuries were reported.

This latest string of terror attacks comes in the wake of the murder of Rabbi Eitam and Naama Henkin, who were gunned down on Thursday in front of their four children by at least two Palestinian suspects as the family drove near the Palestinian village of Beit Furik. The children escaped unharmed, and the attack was claimed by a terrorist group affiliated with Fatah, the party of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. A senior official from Fatah denied involvement. Abbas did not issue a condemnation of the attack, and in a statement released Sunday, the Palestinian Authority only condemned Israel for killing two Palestinian men in Jerusalem, without mentioning that the men were shot because they were attacking Israeli civilians.

The IDF conducted a raid in Nablus early Saturday morning and arrested a number of suspects in relation to the Henkin murder. A video from the operation, posted by the IDF to YouTube, is embedded below.

Ofir Gendelman, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s spokesperson for the Arab media, said that Palestinians launched fireworks and celebrated on the streets of Nablus after word spread of the Henkin attack. A picture of the celebration that Gendelman posted to Twitter showed the revelers waving several Fatah flags. Gunmen from Fatah and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine reportedly marched in the streets of the Dehaishe refugee camp near Bethlehem after the attack.

Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad also praised the Henkin murder, while leading Fatah official Mahmoud al-Aloul declared that Palestinians have elected “martyrdom as their option toward the establishment of a Palestinian state and ending occupation.”
