Preparations continue in the Gaza Strip for Hamas’s 25th anniversary, which will see the Iran-backed terror group holding rallies throughout the territory in celebration of its genocidal commitment to eradicating Israel. Taking part in the festivities will be Hamas politburo chief Khaled Mashaal, who entered the Gaza Strip for the first time in 45 years today. A subsequently published YouTube video shows a weepy Mashaal being embraced by senior Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. Though a Hamas spokesman declared that his presence is a “a fruit of the victory of the resistance over the occupation,” Mashaal will depart from the territory before the weekend is over. In the meantime he will visit the home of Ahmed Jabari, the Hamas military leader who was killed in Israel’s recent Operation Pillar of Defense, which substantially degraded Hamas’s command and control infrastructure and after which Hamas ceased its month-long wave of escalatory rocket fire.
