The Fatah-controlled Palestinian Authority is condemning the Gaza visit of Qatari Emir Hamad bin Khalifa A-Thani. The much-publicized trip is a diplomatic victory for the Iranian-backed Hamas terrorist organization, which has controlled the territory since 2007, when Hamas violently ousted the Palestinian Authority in a bloody coup. Qatari rulers have since aided Hamas in a variety of ways. In 2010 an expose by The Israel Project revealed that Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned, the second wife of the emir of Qatar, was financing work between a U.S. public relations firm and Al Fakhoora, a Qatar-based pro-Palestinian initiative that participated in the flotilla that originally tried to break Israel’s siege of Gaza and urged action against Israel. Documents revealed that the Qataris paid approximately $240,000 to just one firm for communications services rendered over a six-month period.
