Beverly Siegel has written and produced award-winning documentaries for commercial and public television, including “Blind Love: The Story of Josh,” which won a Chicago Emmy for public affairs programming, and “Romance of a People: The First 100 Years of Jewish History in Chicago,” which aired for four years as a freestanding special on WTTW11, Chicago’s flagship public television station and won a Superior Achievement Award from the Illinois State Historical Society. She also produced for WTTW a profile of the city’s leading Jewish philanthropist entitled “From Sears to Eternity: The Julius Rosenwald Story,” focusing on the man who built Sears into the world’s leading mail-order catalogue, funded 5,000 schools for Black Americans in the rural south, and founded the city’s Museum of Science and Industry as well as the forerunner organization of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago.
