ISIS Group With Close Ties to Hamas Threatens to Turn Israel “Into a Graveyard for Jews”

The Islamic State’s affiliate in the Sinai Peninsula released a new video threatening Israel, saying it will turn into “a graveyard for Jews,” The Jerusalem Post reported on Wednesday.

The 35-minute video, which was published on Monday by ISIS-Sinai Province, features footage of assaults on Egyptian forces, including bombings and shootouts. A narrator cites these past attacks as examples of how the group will target Westerners.

“This is only the beginning, and our meeting [will be] in Rome and Beit Al-Maqdis [Jerusalem],” the narrator threatens, according to a translation provided by the Middle East Media Research Institute. “Oh Jews, wait for us. The punishment [we have prepared for you] is severe and soon you will pay a high price,” he added.

“Jews will not remain in Palestine, we will turn it into a graveyard for Jews,” the video continues, according to a translation cited by Haaretz. The video does not refer to Israel directly, but to “El Yahud,” Arabic for “the Jews.”

Egyptian authorities have claimed that the Gaza-based terrorist group Hamas has been crucial to the rise of ISIS-Sinai Province, transforming it from “a gang of Bedouin with light weapons into a well-trained, well-armed group of 800 militants.” In December, an ISIS commander met with Hamas officials to increase cooperation between the terrorist groups, especially in the area of arms smuggling.

These growing ties — which are reported to also include explosives manufacturing, communications and logistical assistance, and hospitalization for injured fighters — have enraged Egyptian officials, who recently confronted Hamas over its close collaboration with the Sinai-based terrorist group.

This isn’t the first time that ISIS has pledged to attack Israel. In a video released in October, a masked ISIS terrorist threatened Israel in Hebrew, saying: “We promise you that soon, not one Jew will be left [alive] in Jerusalem or across Israel and we will continue until we eradicate this disease [Judaism?] from the world.”
