Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations Ron Prosor has called on the Security Council to condemn the rocket fire from Gaza that threatens Israel’s southern residents.
“At this time missile sirens are going off in different parts of Israel and rockets are being fired at Beersheba, Ashkelon, Ashdod, and Beit Shemesh.
“Hamas is firing on millions of Israeli citizens indiscriminately. In one hour over 65 rockets were fired,” Prosor said. …
Prosor said the Security Council had the duty to condemn Hamas and the terror against Israel and to call for Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to dismantle the unity government with Hamas.
Hey @HRW @amnesty @btselem @EUinIsrael @kenroth Wake up. 65 rockets from #Gaza vs. Israeli civilians. That's 65 war crimes #humanrightswreck

While the Security Council has not condemned the violence, Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-Moon offered a qualified condemnation of the rocket attacks against Israel.
The Secretary-General condemns the recent multiple rocket attacks on Israel from Gaza. These indiscriminate attacks on civilian areas must stop.
This was coupled with a call for “all actors to exercise maximum restraint.”
