A court in Canada’s Ontario has recently ordered the seizure of more than $7mln of Iran’s properties over the fabricated allegation that Tehran is funding terrorist groups.
In reply, Iran rejected the ruling as politically-motivated.
Iran funds Hezbollah, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, all of whom are designated as terror organizations by major players in the international community.
In his ruling, Ontario Superior Court of Justice Judge David M. Brown noted that Iran is a terror state.
Ottawa cut diplomatic ties with Tehran in 2012 and ordered Iranian diplomats to leave Canada at the same time.
Canada’s view of Iran has remained consistent in recent years and was recently espoused by Prime Minister Stephen Harper during his visit to the Middle East.
It is important that we all recognize this for what it is. This is a regime in Iran, an extremist fundamentalist regime with a violent and hateful ideology, and it wants to possess nuclear weapons.
